Ping.sg Top 10

Its been awhile since I've seen a clean top 10 box at Ping.sg. Its sad because this shows that people in Singapore are using the Internet for sex and scandal more than anything else.

Just look at Google Zeitgeist 2008 report! The fastest raising search was Singapore is Edison Chan?? What?



I'm sure all those blogs who posted about him are still getting many hits for this keyword.

By not moderating the Pongs at Ping.sg, it shows the real world out there. If your title shows some sex or scandal, even when your except tells that there's nothing sex nor scandal in the post, people will still click and see what's there! Generally users are just attracted by the title of a post. This applies to print media too. Have a label on the cover, like "Unsuitable for the young" with photo of a woman in little clothes, this magazine will sure fly off the shelves too. But retaining your readership might be tough if the content in it sucks.



I hope to see lesser red angry faces and 10 smiley faces more often in Ping.sg top10 box.

• Login when you're reading good content on Ping.


• Unpong the posts if you felt that the title mislead you or the content does not deserve the pong.


• Don't just ping your post. Try to participate in the pong-ing too.


• Don't try to register multiple clones to pong yourself. People will know sooner or later.
