I know it's just a game but when one spent much effort and time playing it, it's painful to see such things happening. Once is alright but acting like this on a daily basis is no go. What if players had spent real cash paying for the game? If your app or game is overwhelmed with players isn't it a good thing? But you got to be prepared for server load and be ready to scale.
